Biography
I am a Independent Director in Food and Health Program at Quadram Institute Bioscience. After graduation from Alexandria University (Egypt) with a Master’s degree in Food Science and Technology, I worked as a teaching assistant in the Food Science and Technology Department at the same university.
Research Interest
My research at Quadram Institute Bioscience is focused on the effect of anthocyanins, a group of polyphenols, and their metabolites on improving the lipid/lipoprotein profile and quality in humans, and to investigate the mechanisms by which anthocyanins and their metabolites exert these effects. I am using cultured cell models and also exploring effects in a human intervention study.
