Biography
Henry Whiley have a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology and an MRes in Food Microbiology both from the University of Nottingham where he received multiple awards including being part of the University of Nottingham 100 Heroes. He have since carried out research on the sexual reproduction of molds. He have worked in a private medical referrals laboratory and for the Animal and Plant Health Agency. He now funded through a NIHR HPRU GI grant to investigate how pathogenic bacteria interact with the human gut microbiota, and will use this information to assess the potential of next generation sequencing as a clinical diagnostic tool for gastrointestinal disorders.
