Biography
Mark Fernandes's current role is in providing Bioinformatics training with bespoke training environments (Docker Containers). He is one of the trainers on our Bite-Sized Bioinformatics workshops – an informal programme of Bioinformatics training sessions held within Quadram Institute Bioscience. The sessions are organised by John Walshaw. He is a StemNet Ambassador with an aim to encourage young people (e.g. school pupils) to take up STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) courses and careers. He have been a BBSRC Schools Regional Champion. He also won a 2012 Cue EAST Individual award for Public Engagement.
