Biography
After completing a BSc in Biochemistry at King’s College London and an MRes in Clinical Research at Imperial College London, Tharsini Sivapalan embarked on a PhD with Prof. Richard Mithen investigating the bioavailability and biological activity of sulphur compounds from broccoli. During her PhD, she undertook a human intervention study complemented by cell culture work thus she have gained experience with the ethics application process for human studies as well as molecular biology techniques. In addition, she undertook a 3-month internship at Stratagem IPM, an intellectual property firm, gaining an insight into intellectual property and commercialisation.
