Biography
David completed his PhD in 2009 on the subject of Architecture Education and was appointed Professor in October 2013. David leads a multi-disciplinary school that contains a number of disciplines relating to the built environment. These include Architecture, Architectural Technology, Surveying, Construction Management, Construction Project Management and Commercial Practice for the Energy Sectors. The School offers courses at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, research and consultancy.
Research Interest
David has been Head of The Scott Sutherland School since 2006, having joined Robert Gordon University in 1992; prior to this he was an Architect in practice in Cambridge. David is actively involved in architectural education nationally, principally through work with the RIBA. He has been involved in their validation process on four continents, and has acted as a consultant internationally for the UIA.
