Biography
Neil is Head of Undergraduate Studies within the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Robert Gordon University. Neil focuses on management and leadership of the School’s undergraduate programmes ensuring that they meet the requirements of the University, professional, regulatory, statutory bodies as well as key strategic partners. His role encompasses six key areas – academic development group leadership; leading on undergraduate programme management and development; leading the School’s practice learning strategy for undergraduate programmes; participation in key School and University committees and working groups; managing the academic development of the School’s research and scholarship outputs pertaining to pre-registration programmes; membership of the School senior management team.
Research Interest
Neil’s research and scholarly interests focus upon the translation of research and evidence in clinical practice as well as educational approaches to facilitating teaching and learning in undergraduate nurse education. He has presented at national and international conferences on these themes and has published in a number of journals and texts. He is currently undertaking a Doctorate of Professional Practice exploring research and evidence based practice and the experiences of undergraduate student nurses in practice learning environments.
