Sally Berrisford

Biography

Sally Berrisford is a lecturer in Communication, Marketing and Media. Prior to joining the Department she was a lecturer at the University of Paisley Business School for nine years and the Glasgow Caledonian University Business School for one year. She taught information, communication, human & strategic management until 2002. PhD (Pending completion) from The Robert Gordon University. Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods from The Robert Gordon University, 2003. BA (Hons) Business Administration & Management, University of Paisley, 1993.

Research Interest

She had previously been involved in gender related research projects, in particular with women entrepreneurs in Scotland. As a research student of the Department of Communications & Languages she is completing her PhD. Her research concentrates on "Women in Scottish Politics: a study of women MSPs and their communication with journalists in mainstream and political news media". The focus of the study is to explore a relatively new and developing area of gender and communication research, focusing on the communication relationship between women MSPs and journalists in mainstream and political news media in Scotland.
