Biography
Ian Phillips is a geologist by training, having studied for his PhD at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and undertook post doc research at the Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, Egham, Surrey. Ian worked in the hydrocarbon service industry for 16 years as a mineralogist using X-ray diffraction techniques before joining the Institute. His current post involves the analysis of samples for commercial projects.
