Biography
Dr Hongwei Zhang has a PhD in Control Engineering from the University of Manchester and a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology. He joined Sheffield Hallam University in 2007 and is currently a Principal Lecturer in Control Systems and the Subject Group Leader of the Electrical, Electronic and Control Engineering Subject Group in the Department of Engineering and Mathematics. Hongwei is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). His main teaching areas are in industrial automation and control engineering. Hongwei is also a keen researcher in the field of advanced control and condition monitoring of complex processes, industrial automation, multivariate statistical process control, model predictive control and artificial intelligence.
