Biography
John Ockendon was founding Director of the Oxford Centre for Collaborative and Applied Mathematics (OCCAM), and Research Director of the Oxford Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.His academic career has been built around mathematics-in-industry, beginning with the first-ever Maths-in-Industry Study Group in 1968.He has been deeply involved in setting up Study Groups in many countries including Australia, Canada, USA
