Kairen Roche

Biography

I commenced Nursing in 1983 and undertook a pre-registration Ophthalmic Nursing Diploma, and qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1986. I then worked within Accident & Emergency for six years where I developed an interest in primary care, as I felt intervention and health promotion would prevent some of the life threatening conditions I dealt with. I subsequently commenced work within a General Practice and have enjoyed immensely how the role has evolved. I joined the university in 2009, where I became module lead for Long Term Conditions and Respiratory disorders, for which I have a great passion; I have continued to work in general practice to maintain a contemporary view of primary care.
