Cath Wright

Biography

Cath is a senior lecturer and programme leader for the BSc Occupational Therapy programme. She qualified as an occupational therapist from Salford in 1989, and has worked in a variety of physical and mental health settings within the National Health Service. Before joining the team at Teesside, Cath was a senior manager in a Primary Care Trust, managing the Allied Health Professionals working in the community. Her interests are clinically in older age medicine. From the management perspective, Cath’s areas of interest are leadership, service development and entrepreneurial approaches for occupational therapy service delivery, as well as the politics and ethics of service provision. Cath’s MA was in Independent Practice (Health) at the University of Leeds, and her dissertation looked at the prevalence of self-reported co-dependence in staff working in a Primary Care Trust. Cath is the Council Member for Membership and External Affairs at the College of Occupational Therapists. Her current research is also in the area of co-dependence.
