Biography
Dr Sotiris T Lalaounis is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing and Design Management with the Department of Organisation Studies. He joined the University of Exeter Business School in October 2011. Dr Lalaounis was previously a part-time Lecturer with the Centre for Creative Industries at Glasgow Caledonian University. Prior to returning to academia, he held account management positions in design consultancies, managing digital accounts for major clients including DELL (EMEA), Scottish & Southern Energy and the De Vere Group of hotels. Dr Lalaounis holds a BA(Hons) in Marketing from Strathclyde Business School, University of Strathclyde, an MSc in Public Relations from the University of Stirling, an MSc in Design & Digital Media from the University of Edinburgh, and a PhD from the Centre for Creative Industries at Glasgow Caledonian University. His PhD thesis investigated business development issues in the creative industries, with a focus on design consultancies, and was sponsored by the UK’s Department of Trade and Industry through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Design Management Institute, and the European Group for Organizational Studies.
