Biography
I joined the University of Exeter Business School in 2010, with previous academic positions held at the universities of Dundee, Colorado-Denver, and Manchester. My research is qualitative, usually theoretically-informed case studies. I am interested in multiple contemporary challenges facing tomorrow’s organisation. Most of my academic publications draw on institutional theory or structuration theory. Recent publications and current research has, for example, investigated: Managerial and non-managerial controls in hospitals Accounting for strategic management Managing for sustainable development Monetization of football in England –vs.- grass-roots sport Popular culture and accountability Natural capital accounting Past publications have appeared in journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society, Organization Studies, Qualitative Research in Accounting and Management, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Management Accounting Research, and European Accounting Review.
