Biography
Dr Johnson is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at the Whittington Hospital, London. He appears as one of the three respiratory consultants listed in Tatler Magazine's 'Britain's 250 Best Private Doctors'. He is Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Royal Free and University College Medical School, London. He was formerly Honorary Consultant to St Luke's Hospital for the Clergy. has previously chaired the 'Standards of Care' Committee, and been a Member of both the Executive and the Council of the British Thoracic Society. He has previously worked part-time as an advisor for the National Clinical Assessment Service. He qualified in 1970 at St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical School, London, where he won a number of Undergraduate prizes. He progressed through respiratory and general medical training at the Royal Brompton, Hammersmith, Royal Free and Middlesex Hospitals. Following this, he became Senior Lecturer (Consultant) at the Middlesex and University College Hospitals. He then moved to become Clinical Director of Medicine at the Whittington Hospital, and later became the Trust's Director of Research and Development. He has held posts of both Undergraduate and Post-Graduate Sub-Dean in the medical school. He has published over a hundred papers in academic journals, and has written two text books - one for undergraduate medical students (Respiratory Medicine Pocket Consultant, Blackwell Science) and one for lawyers (Respiratory Disorders, Cavendish Publishing). He is cited in Debrett's Distinguished People of Today.
