Biography
With more than 32 years experience in system-based quality assurance (ISO 9001), half that time spent in industry and the other half in academia and the health service I bring a wealth of knowledge to my role in database and clinical research management. In order to enhance the research and publications portfolios of our junior doctors, trainees and consultants I provide support and technical help with projects that have been authorised via data requests from the Edinburgh Orthopaedic Database (EOD). In addition, in order to introduce our students to the reality of carrying out medical research, I provide supervision, support and technical help with projects that have been decided by their supervising clinician. This might mean a full application to the Research Ethics Service or may be authorised via data requests from the EOD.
