Biography
amini specialises in the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze. She is interested in the conceptual and methodological implications of Deleuze’s philosophy for the practice of art history, with a focus on early modern visual arts. She is currently completing a body of research on the 16th century painter Jacopo Tintoretto, that explores the way in which his ‘difference’ can be thought, and the philosophical and disciplinary implications of that registration. Her research spans modern and contemporary continental philosophy and critical theory, theories of art history and historiography, and early modern visual culture. She is also a practising artist. At Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) she is course coordinator for 1st year Visual Culture, and teaches on the Fine Art and History of Art combined Honours programme as tutor in Painting.
