Daniel Beneroso Vallejo

Chemical and Environmental Engineering
The University of Nottingham
United Kingdom

Biography

Daniel Beneroso Vallejo graduated from University of Málaga (Spain) where he received his MEng in Chemical Engineering in 2010. In 2012, he received his MSc in Energy Engineering from the University of Oviedo (Spain). Dr Beneroso holds a PhD in Energy awarded by the University of Oviedo (Spain) in 2016. He developed his PhD research project in the Spanish National Institute of Coal (INCAR-CSIC) on the topic of Microwave-induced Pyrolysis of Biomass. This process combines the dielectric properties of carbonaceous materials with microwave heating, allowing the production of a high quality syngas (H2+CO) from biomass and organic wastes without the need for gasifying reagents.

Research Interest

In 2016 he joined the Microwave Process Engineering research group at the University of Nottingham to help take forward the group's ongoing work in high temperature processing (biofuels and polymers production) using microwave technologies. In September 2017 he was appointed as Assistant Professor of Chemical and Environmental Engineering. As a University Teacher, he is responsible for delivering high quality teaching, supporting the development of high quality outcome based teaching and learning within the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, and developing innovative support and assessment methods. Module convenor: - Particle Mechanics H82PME - Chemical and Phase Equilibria H82CPE Module contributor: - Process Simulation 1 H83PS1 - Advanced Transport Phenomena H83TPH
