Biography
Interested in virtual environments, both from a systems and user-experience point of view. Originally this focussed on highly immersive systems, but more recently I have been looking at computer games, mixed-reality systems and areas related to ubiquitous computing. I am also involved in projects on haptics, brain-computer interfaces, physiological sensing, social gaming and mobile interfaces. I was director of the Engineering Doctorate Centre in Virtual Environments, Imaging and Visualisation from 2005-2013. I am the lead academic on the BBC/UCL collaboration that is forming the London Media Technology Campus.
