Biography
Andreas Schaefer joined the department in September 2017 as a Senior Lecturer (the UK equivalent of Associate Professor). Previously, Andreas was an Assistant Professor at ETH Zurich (Switzerland) and Leipzig University (Germany), a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence (Italy) and a visiting scholar at the Vienna University of Technology. Andreas holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Rostock (Germany) and a Master's Degree in Economics from the Leibniz University in Hannover (Germany). His main research interests lie in the fields of Economic Growth and Development, Environmental Economics and Economic Inequality. Andreas' research has been published in journals such as Journal of International Economics, European Economic Review, Environmental and Resource Economics and Macroeconomic Dynamics.
