Biography
Dr Lydia Morgan is currently a research fellow on the Joseph Rowntree Foundation funded project Counter-Terrorism Review with Professor Fiona de Londras (Birmingham) and Dr Jessie Blackbourn (Oxford). The project seeks to map and evaluate how counter-terrorism laws and measures are legally accountable and through empirical research understand how it works in practice. Lydia also researches and teaches public law, legal and political theory, and legal pedagogy. She is particularly interested in state secrecy, the UK security services, the regulation of investigatory measures and the responses of liberal theory to contemporary political practices. In the last two- years she has written on liberty and the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 and using object based learning to teach Dworkin. She is currently looking at UK national security cases through theories of legal coherence.
