Biography
Mark Gilbertson is Senior Academic Fellow in Department of Engineering University of Bristol, United Kingdom
Research Interest
His research work has concentrated on the effcets of fluidiseation: how particles behave when their weight is wholly or mostly supported by the drag exerted by a gas flow past them. His main interests have included understanding the behaviour of the bubbles that form in fluidised beds, characterising and controlling fluidised beds using pressure fluctuations, the beaviour of fluidised granular currents, tapered fluidised beds, and the segregation that takes place when beds contain particles of different sizes and densities. He have had several collaborations with Earth scientists where these interests have been applied to geological systems.
