Debarpita Bardhan-correia

Biography

Deba is currently Academic Director and Head of Department for the Undergraduate Business and Management related programmes in the Business School at the University of Buckingham. Born in Kolkatta, India, Deba Bardhan-Correia did her undergraduate degree in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (First class) from St. Joseph’s College of Arts & Science, Bangalore. Since graduation, Deba has worked for The Oberoi Group, which owns and manages thirty-five luxury and first class international hotels in seven countries. She worked in high customer contact areas of the hotels in Mumbai, India involved initially with the activities of the Housekeeping Department and later in the Sales and Marketing department of their flagship hotels in Mumbai.

Research Interest

Deba lectures on several business-related modules at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate level in the Business School. Deba is currently responsible for the 2nd year modules Service Management and Cross-cultural Management in the undergraduate Business and Management programme and Integrated Services Management and Marketing and Managing People across Cultures in the MSc Management in a Service Economy programme. Furthermore, Deba supervises Master’s dissertations in a range of topics in service management.
