Biography
Hendrik obtained his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1994 and his PhD in 1999 both at the University of Ghent. His doctoral thesis was on “Numerical solution of Maxwell’s equations by combining finite elements or finite differences with integral equations”. He stayed on at Ghent as a post-doctoral fellow, then a lecturer, senior lecturer and currently full professor. During this time, Hendrik has published over 200 refereed papers in prestigious journals and conferences, including two patents, and co-authored or edited a number of books. He has been awarded several European research fund grants, including FP7 awards.
