Michael Constantine

Biography

Mike retired from Merseyside Police as a Chief Inspector in August 2011 after 31 years’ service. Mike enjoyed a career in a wide variety of roles mainly in the uniformed operational environment. Latterly he was the Neighbourhood Inspector in the Dingle area of Liverpool followed by postings to headquarters in Liverpool and then to St. Helens as Chief Inspector with responsibility for partnerships, and finally with responsibility for operations support. His interest in training and development began in the early 1990's when he was posted to Merseyside Police detective training school specialising in investigative interviewing. He managed to re-visit training and development at various points in his career and indeed found time to train newly qualified police Inspectors in the management of critical incidents whilst performing other managerial roles towards the end of his police career. Mike's career at UCLan started in October 2013 with him working on both the FDSc. in policing and on BSc (Hons) programme. Mike is presently studying for a number of professional and academic qualifications in addition to his teaching responsibilities.
