Biography
Dr Wilson is a Lecturer in Social Pharmacy & Ethics in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, having joined the School as a research associate in 2007. Dr Wilson has a background in philosophy and ethics, a PhD in political philosophy, and research experience relating to ethical issues in health care practice. Her teaching and research interests relate to the ethical provision of healthcare. This encompasses three key areas: teaching related to the ethical and social aspects of health and healthcare; the moral development and professionalism of health care students and practitioners; and the ethical delivery of health care services at both the individual and the social level. Current projects include: Conscientious objection in pharmacy practice; Students as educators - opportunities and outcomes, and an exploration of the factors influencing presentation with non-urgent health problems to the Accident & Emergency Department at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
