Carbohydrates, appetite and energy balance in humans. Macronutrients and satiety. Energy density as a primary determinant of energy intake. Physiological and psychological responses to diet -induced energy deficits. Detecting and modelling mis-reporting of dietary intakes and implications for large-scale diet surveys. Susceptibility and resistance to diet-induced obesity. Relapse prevention and weight loss maintenance. Determining the relationship between energy intake and expenditure in relation to body composition. Developing more effective interventions and tools for behaviour change, weight loss and maintenance.
