Biography
I'm an advanced motorsport engineer with more than 30 years experience in building, servicing, repair and modification of all types of wheeled vehicles. I also have extensive fabrication, welding and machining skills. I've many years experience of various motorsport disciplines including working as an engineer and crew-chief for motorcycle world championship endurance teams. Before coming to work for the University I was a self-employed engineer in my own performance engineering business and I still build competitive race engines; winning races on both sides of the Atlantic. In 2005 I developed and prepared the engine that won the UK Legends Cars championship.
Research Interest
Away from the University I enjoy finding solutions to interesting performance engineering problems, studying new technologies and developing and racing post-classic and golden-era superbikes.
