Research Interest
Exercise and health; 'Green Exercise' (activities in green spaces); Physical and psychological health benefits of exercising in different environments, during and recovery from exercise; The impact of exercise on individual's mood and self-esteem; Green care, green design and green education; The health benefits of outdoor experiences for individuals experiencing mental health challenges; Children's relationship with nature and greenspaces; Wilderness experiences for disaffected youth; Connection to nature across the whole life course pathway. I have been invited to speak at both local and international conferences including key note speeches. I have collaborated with colleagues to generate over £890,000 in green exercise research income, working with more than 30 external agencies and charities.
