Research Interest
cardiovascular system for over 30 years. My particular interest is in the autonomic (nerve-mediated) control of arteries and veins and, in particular, the interactions between the various cells of the vascular wall. Recent work has focused on the role of fat which surrounds most of the blood vessels of the body. This perivascular fat is thought to contribute to the relationship between hypertension, obesity and diabetes.
