Biography
Gemma Manning has worked at the University of Huddersfield since leaving legal practice in 2004. She is a Senior Lecturer in the Law Department and a former practising solicitor in Immigration and Asylum Law and Mental Health Law. She is module leader for Immigration and Asylum Law on the Masters of Law and Practice, the Legal Practice Course, the LLB undergraduate Law Course and the LLB Distance Learning course. She also teaches on the Administration of Justice and Human Rights module. As manager of the University Legal Advice Clinic in the Packhorse Centre she assists and mentors students in the provision of free legal advice to the community.
Research Interest
Gemma has written articles on a range of aspects of immigration and asylum law and human rights law and is particularly interested in gender and refugee law, assisting with the development of a research stream in this area.
