Biography
Current studies: PhD Cardiac Rehabilitation, School of Human and Health Sciences, University of Huddersfield. Place of birth and upbringing: Birmingham City and Ireland (Co Galway).
Research Interest
Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS, London). Chartered Scientist (IBMS, London). Multi-disciplinary Cardiac rehabilitation in clinical practice (hospital and community settings). Quality of life research in cardiac patients (MI, CABG, PCI). Case Study methodology and use of Mixed Methods research. Teaching, application and use of the life sciences knowledge (Physiology, Psychology and Sociology) related to Nursing care of patients – research project completed in 2003 (School Innovation fund, University of Huddersfield). Theoretical interests in cardiac physiology and related pharmacology. Theoretical interest in the aetiology and pathogenesis of various human diseases particularly coronary heart disease.
