Research Interest

Alan Cann is a microbiologist by training whose teaching portfolio includes a wide range of subjects from introductory biology, virology, information literacy, numeracy and statistics, to research skills.  He has published two successful textbooks, one of which, Principles of Molecular Virology, is now in its fifth edition.  In addition to e-learning, his other active area of interest is in assessment and feedback, which is informed by his own research conducted within the School of Biological Sciences and is used to improve quality and student satisfaction.
