Biography
I grew up in South Shields, a seaside town in the north east of England. I completed a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences in 2002. Following a brief spell working in the biotechnology industry I took a PhD in Genetics under the mentorship of Professor David Lydall (Newcastle University, UK), using budding yeast as a model organism to study the cellular responses to dysfunctional telomeres.
