Professor of Airway Disease and Respiratory Medicine at Leicester University Professor of Airway Disease and Respiratory Medicine at Leicester University

Research Interest

Structure-function analysis of the small airways in diseases such as asthma and COPD to enable early detection: this includes imaging (both CT and MRI systems), computational modelling and small airway physiology Evaluation of airway remodelling in asthma and its association with disease persistence and progression Phenotyping and biomarkers of airways disease with a focus on both volatile detection (translational lead for the MRC-EMBER molecular pathology node program) and non-volatile liquid particles in air In collaboration with the Department of Mathematics at Leicester, I chair the Data Analysis and Modelling in Medicine (DAMM) group and am interested in the development of statistical approaches applied to complex data to understand disease phenotypes
