Biography
Alain is Director of the Oxford Centre for Collaborative Applied Mathematics (OCCAM) and Professor of Mathematical Modelling. He works in the new Mathematical Institute building, in the heart of the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter.
Research Interest
Research Interests: • Methods of Applied Mathematics (differential equations, dynamical systems,...), • Discrete and continuum mechanics, elasticity, plasticity, • Application of mechanics and mathematics to biology, • Mathematical modeling in physics and engineering, Interesting and otherwise unclassifiable mathematical problems.
