Biography
I am a chemical biologist with a primary interest in epigenetics. I studied chemistry in Peking University and completed my PhD at the University of Chicago in 2013 in the group of Prof. Chuan He. There, I became interested in epigenetics and developed a series of novel selective chemical labelling-based sequencing technologies that have become widely used in the epigenetics field to dissect the functional roles of various DNA epigenetic marks. I was a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University in the laboratory of Prof. Stephen Quake, where I developed sensitive single-molecule imaging and low-input sequencing methods to detect epigenetic modifications from trace amounts of DNA for a deeper understanding of their functions and exploring their clinical applications. I joined the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research Oxford Branch in June 2016 where I am continuing my research on technology development, functional studies and clinical applications in epigenetics.
