Biography
Professor James Sparks is a Senior Research Fellow in the Mathematical Physics Group (Mathematical Institute) and a Royal Society University Research Fellow as well as Professor of Mathematical Physics. At Oriel I tutor students in both pure and applied mathematics courses, such as analysis and quantum theory.
Research Interest
James research interests are in mathematical physics, theoretical physics and geometry. More specifically, much of my work has been centred around geometric problems in string theory and how these relate to quantum field theory via the AdS/CFT correspondence.
