Biography
Yves Capdeboscq was trained as an engineer in Ecole Centrale Paris in France. He spent the last year of that degree in Cambridge (taking the ‘Part III’ course in Mathematics). He then went on to do a D.Phil. in Mathematics in Paris 6 (France), a post-doc in Rutgers (USA), and came back to France to become a lecturer. He came to Oxford in 2007. In Queen’s he is the tutor for Applied Mathematics: he like mathematical analysis with applications. At the Mathematical Institute, he is currently teaching Integration (Analysis III) for prelims, and a course related to the analysis of partial differential equations for graduate students.
Research Interest
Yves Capdeboscq's main research areas lie in partial differential equations and numerical analysis. He is especially interested in the characterization of noticeable interactions between small scale and large scale, as it appears in homogenization theory, or in impedance tomography and imaging.
