Biography
Chul Chung is an Assistant Professor (UK Lecturer) in International Business and Strategy at Henley Business School, specialising in International Human Resource Management. His broad research interests encompass the areas of intersections between international business, human resource management, strategic management and organisation studies.Chul has substantial experience as a management consultant specialising in organisation design and human resource management with multinational consultancies and a research organization such as Towers Perrin (now Towers Watson), IBM Global Business Services and LG Economic Research Institute. He earned a PhD in Management and an MA in HR/KM from Lancaster University Management School, and an MBA and BBA from Yonsei University in South Korea.
Research Interest
His current research is focusing on three themes: Managing people and knowledge in multinational enterprises - international HRM strategies of MNEs to achieve global integration and local responsiveness in managing people - socio-political dynamics in implementing global HRM policies across subsidiaries in national and sub-national contexts - the role of HRM in subsidiary knowledge creation Executive staffing and strategic outcomes The role of corporate governance and business models in employment practices and outcomes
