Biography
Alison initially became a Nurse Registrant in Adult Nursing in 1984 from where she held posts in Intensive Care, surgery, acute medicine and later life care through until 1996 where she qualified in Children & Young People's Nursing. In Children's Nursing she worked largely in the community in School Health but also in acute paediatrics. From 2002 she has worked as a Nurse Lecturer in Children and Young People's Nursing where she has an interest in creative curriculum development, module leadership and in clinical skills. Clinical she has developed links in paediatric respite and palliative care and lately as a BACP registered psychotherapist / counsellor she works on a voluntary basis in child and family bereavement. She is currently undertaking a Post Grad qualification in Therapeutic Play skill. She has a long interest in environmental issues and has stood as a Green Party candidate in council elections.
