Philip Martin

Biography

Phil Martin has worked at SHUSU for over two years. He has substantial experience of qualitative research, having completed over one hundred fieldwork interviews across ten EU nations for the Roma MATRIX project alone. He previously worked in both public and third sectors, focusing on equalities issues for over a decade, undertaking many specific projects directly engaging with a wide range of BME and other communities of interest. He is currently working on a number of large scale initiatives including Supporting Roma Voice, a multi-agency project promoting Roma advocacy in Greater Manchester, Yorkshire and London. Research Interest

Qualitative research and analysis, community engagement (specific reference on migrants, Gypsy, Roma and Traveller and BME communities); demographic change data (particularly collection and analysis), public sector delivery (with specific reference to human rights, equality and cohesion)
