Biography
Richard is a Associate Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and the Environment at the University of Southampton. His research interests are focussed on electrochemical energy storage and integration of renewable energy technologies. Specific research areas include redox flow batteries, lead acid batteries, fuel cells and electrode materials. He has secured DTI, TSB, EU, British Council, MoD and industrially funded research projects. He was presented with the Dave Rice award in 2007 for the advancement of lead acid batteries and has published several influential papers and chapters on redox flow batteries and electrode materials.
