Biography
Andrew is on a four-year SULSA drug discovery PhD studentship receiving funding from the pharmaceutical company MSD, and jointly supervised by Dr Terry Smith, Dr Stuart MacNeill and Professor Jim Naismith. Originally from south west England, Andrew studied at the University of Edinburgh where he graduated with a first class BSc with honours in Medical Sciences. During his undergrad in Edinburgh Andrew received several awards, including the Bernard Ginseng award for excellence in Neuroscience and Pharmacology.
Research Interest
Biomolecular characterisation of replicative DNA polymerases and development of novel therapeutic agents targeting nuclear DNA replication in parasitic trypanomastids
