Biography
His teaching interests extend across mediaeval Byzantium and the Near East (6th–11th centuries) with particular interest in the Caucasus and Sasanian Persia. His research is centred upon Armenian political, social and cultural history across the same period, analysing and exploiting literary, epigraphic and architectural sources.
