Biography
My background is primarily in Accident and Emergency and Surgical Nursing. I have worked in a number of acute hospitals both in the UK and in New Zealand. I have had an active role in supporting and developing student nurses throughout my career and made the transition to Higher Education in 2010. I have an interest in keeping my practice updated and undertake shifts at St Christopher's Shooting Star Chase Children's Hospice on a regular basis. Research Interest
I have previously been involved in the following projects: SHA Funded Project (2010 - 2012): A case study of one university’s implementation of service improvement within the pre-registration nursing curriculum. Action research project (2012). Engaging student nurses in self-assessment and OSCE performance – value and application to practice: an action research project. I am interested in exploring support needs of families, student nurses during their training particularly pastoral care
