Biography
Dalvinder Singh is a Professor of Law. He is Senior Associate Research Fellow, Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London; Managing Editor of the Journal of Banking Regulation (Palgrave Macmillan) and Financial Regulation, International (Informa Law); Editorial Advisory Board Member, Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance (Emerald). He has acted as a technical advisor to the International Monetary Fund. He is an External Examiner at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary, University of London, University of Reading & the University of Liverpool.He is a member of the Advisory Panel of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI).
Research Interest
Dalvinder Singh teachs and research on the area of bank and financial regulation from both a theoretical and practical perspective. He focus on the UK system as well as significant aspects of the US system as well the European and international dimensions. He has researched, written and presented on a variety of matters namely the structure of regulation and supervision, risk-based system of supervision, legal accountability of regulators, corporate governance, enforcement sanctions, deposit insurance and the use of external auditors. He is also interested in the area of financial sector reform examining the role of the IMF and World Bank, as well as from a variety of regional perspectives. More recent areas of research include bank insolvency and deposit insurance, both from a comparative perspective. He is very keen to hear from prospective PhD students interested in the area of banking and financial law and regulation.
