Biography
For me Sociology is a subject that highlights and tackles the major inequalities and injustices in society. Therefore, as a Sociologist I want to make a difference to the world around me in order to help to make it a more equal and fairer place to live and work in. In terms of my day to day work this means researching to inform my teaching on modules such as ‘Social Inequalities & Diversities’, 'Social Transformations' and ‘Protest, Policing & Public Order’. It also means working with a whole range of local organisations to provide placement opportunities for our students so that they can also participate in the sociological task of creating new knowledge about the world that can play a part in changing it.
