Biography
I am Associate Head of the Department of Health and Social Science at UWE. I manage teams in Philosophy, Politics and International Relations, Public Health, and Environmental Health. I teach on the BA (Hons) Philosophy, MA European Philosophy, and MA Education in Virtual Worlds programmes. I also have a number of PhD students working with me. I have most recently jointly authored a book on metaphysical idealism. This is very wide ranging, covering the entire history of philosophy from ancient idealism to contemporary European idealist philosophies. In the past I have worked on problems relating to emotion, affect and embodiment, and also on social theory. I am currently working on problems in the philosophy of mental health.
