Biography
Dr. David Barnes joined WBS in April 2010. Over the previous 20 years, he has held lecturing posts at Royal Holloway University of London, the Open University and Thames Valley University. He gained a BSc (Eng) from Imperial College London, a MBA from the Open University and a PhD from Staffordshire University. Prior to academia he worked for 14 years in the process plant and building products industries in engineering and line management positions.
Research Interest
Dr. David's research interests include the strategic management of operations, the impact of e-business on operations management, performance management, and the management of SMEs. Recent projects have investigated ICT adoption and use in SMEs, the strategic role of operations management, supplier selection in agile supply chains and e-business performance measurement systems. David's research has been supported by funding from government (HEIF), professional bodies (CIMA) and directly from industry.
